Budget: $425,000 (Lenfest Hall Courtyard)
$1 million (Campus Quadrangle)
$1 million (Tennis Center)

Mathews Nielsen has completed three design and construction projects at the University, including the new Lenfest Hall for the Law School. The design sculpted existing bedrock and rock slabs into site features, using bamboo and decorative gravel to soften the north facing courtyard.

Ranked as one of the top men’s Ivy League tennis teams, Columbia University Tennis team now competes in a new, award winning tennis center. Our design replaced undersized Har-Tru tennis courts with six new full-sized, post-tensioned, concrete courts surfaced with a Premier court cushion system.

The Dodge-Lewisohn quadrangle was reconfigured to accommodate updated circulation patterns and infrastructure improvements. The design incorporates the university’s traditional brick pathways, laid out to preserve mature trees and shrubs.
