Mathews Nielsen designed two roof terraces for the renovation of the 14th Street Armory into a residential complex. The design of a sun terrace, which is available to residents in the adjoining apartments, features two distinct seating areas. The first offers a chaise lounge area screened by bamboo, and the other provides seating for small gatherings as visitors enjoy the view of the city to the north. A second rooftop, for viewing only, features plantings of evergreen shrubs and flowering plants that provide seasonal interest.
