Scenic Hudson Park
Irvington, New York
Client: Village of Irvington
Budget: $6.8 million

Placed on the site of a former lumber yard, this new 12.1 acre park located along the Hudson River is the first public use area to receive funding under the State’s Clean Water/ Clean Air Bond Act "Brownfields Project." The gradual transition from active to passive space invites visitors to ballfields, a soccer/football field, a senior citizen’s building, two playgrounds, and large open lawns with new landscaping.
Our work resulted in program development, a phased master plan, and the implementation of phase one, which involved a completely new rip rap and bulkheaded shoreline and capping of the site’s contaminated soils.
