This 550-acre waterfront park stretches along five miles of Manhattan’s west side. As a joint venture partner with Quennell Rothschild & Partners, Mathews Nielsen prepared a comprehensive plan and design guidelines for the park that weaves together thematic objectives of expressing art, history, and ecology. As designers retained to implement the Tribeca segment of the park, we are creating a multi sport recreation pier, an estuarine education center in addition to a mile – long upland that will include natural grasslands, undulating lawns, a skate park, tennis courts and a plaza for events, performances, and dances.
