Fulton Ferry Landing
Brooklyn, New York
Client: NYC Economic Development Corp.
Budget: $2.8 million

Spectacular views of Manhattan draw sightseers to this 20,000 square foot public access recreation pier located in an historic district adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge. Visitors enjoy outdoor concerts, fishing and impromptu alfresco dining. A custom fabricated stainless steel cable railing evoking the Brooklyn Bridge surrounds the deck. Set within the railing are Native American motifs and a Walt Whitman poem, Crossing Brooklyn Ferry. Bronze relief drawings of local historic scenes are placed in the deck.

The pier will become a major entry into the future Brooklyn Bridge Park.
