MNLA completed the development of a 25-year master plan update for Marist University, a private residential four-year institution located on 240 acres in New York’s Hudson Valley.

This master plan was done in collaboration with DLR, in alignment with the University’s new strategic plan “Marist 100, 2023- 2030 Strategic Plan.” Its purpose is to create a guide for future physical development and enhancements, establish a basis for informed decision making, strengthen relationships across campus and within the region and provide a roadmap, along with tools and strategies for implementation.

MNLA worked to develop the five design goals for the master plan

  1. Enhance Academic Core through the creation of a densified Marist greenway at the center of academic life
  2. Enhance Student Life through the of a new Welcome Center and welcome sequence
  3. On-Campus Student Housing through the development of new residential quads
  4. Increase Campus Connectivity by shifting the campus to a fully walkable campus
  5. Enhancement of Campus Outdoor and Open Space by building green corridors and activating outdoor spaces. The campus will benefit from the expansion of connectivity throughout the campus and the development of a network of natural, green and open spaces.
